Kid’s grazing board
Suggestion to your busy lifestyle: skip the complicated mealtime and make a special kid grazing board
To avoid additional stress during those particularly busy weeks, when life seems to get overwhelmingly hectic, I propose creating a kid’s grazing board. These vibrant boards are especially wonderful during vacation, holiday weekends, when hosting groups of people, and on those evenings when you simply can’t think of making another meal from scratch. The best part is that the ingredients are entirely yours to choose; you have the freedom to select what works best for your family's taste. I have also included a list of suggestions to help guide you in making conscious and thoughtful choices. Please refer to the rules of thumb outlined below to assist you further.
-
Let the kids help choose and arrange items on the board. It's a great way to foster independence in the kitchen. The presentation doesn’t need to be perfect. A casual, arranged look is more inviting and enjoyable.
Use toothpicks, kids absolutely love to use those to try new food. **Offer supervision for little kids**
-
Include 5 food items that you know your children love and will offer proper nutrients for the day. Encourage your children to try new food. Also, include food options that your children have not had the opportunity to try in a long time or had a history of disliking. The grazing board is a good solution to avoid pressuring your child into trying something they do not want & allows them to take that step if they feel like it. You are empowering your children to make their own decisions.

I love to add a little treat to the board & allow my kids to eat their favorite food in the order they wish. The goal here is to empower your children to make their own decision, give up the control while directing them with healthy choices. I make sure everyone has 1 treat and understands that there is 1 per child before I put the board down on the table.
Creating a grazing board not only makes meal prep simpler, but also encourages family connection by allowing everyone to snack and chat in a relaxed atmosphere. Take your board outside and talk about your day or read a story while your kids delight in new healthy choices.
